The refuge “1. Autonomes Frauenhaus“
(engl. First Autonomous Women’s Refuge)

  • provides safe houses with confidential addresses
  • provides crisis intervention services
  • provides psychological and social counseling for adults, children and youth
  • supports you to secure your livelihood
  • carries out risk assessments together with you and helps you tailor a plan for your future
  • can count on highly skilled and trained staff that will help you process and cope with the violence you have experienced
  • collaborates with experienced lawyers
  • accompanies you to appointments at different authorities and institutions and helps you deal with autority issues
  • offers follow-up counseling (if needed) and refers you to further assistance networks
  • offers a 24-hour emergency hotline

Our staff at the refuge “1. Autonomes Frauenhaus“ (engl. First Autonomous Women’s Refuge) consists of 7 social workers with a strong focus on pedagogical approaches. 5 of them provide counseling services to adults that are impacted by violence and 2 of them work with (their affected) children and youth. The team further consists of a female educator and a janitor. There are a total of 15 family places in our refuge.

We speak German, English and French and can call in interpreters for any other language.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at our refuge.
